NHL at a European-friendly time, featuring Vejmelka
European NHL fans have a lot to look forward to on Saturday. Ottawa will take on Detroit from 19:00. Czech fans will be more interested in the Arizona vs. Anaheim game, which starts at 22:00.
This evening’s game will be the first preparation for the Red Wings and Senators before the November game in the Global Series in Stockholm, Sweden. There, they will also face the Toronto Maple Leafs and Detroit Red Wings over the long weekend.
In the evening, it will be time for Karel Vejmelka, who once again proves his great qualities. In his last game he drove the New York Islanders crazy and only scored once. Overall, he has a 1.95 goals against average and a 94.3% save percentage this season.
“We love Veggie. He’s a goalie who came out of nowhere and took one step at a time, improving regularly. The important thing is that last season his performances settled down. The year before that he had games where he worked magic, he had maybe 50 saves, but he also had worse days – although a lot of the time it was because he didn’t have a good team in front of him then. But last year he found that consistency. He may not have been the key player of the night anymore, but he gave a more balanced performance. We’re hoping he takes the next step now, ” Arizona general manager Bill Armstrong said of Vejmelka.

Parsnip heads to California
David Pastrnak and his Boston team have a busy weekend ahead of them. The good news is that he will play both games in California, so he won’t have to travel as much.
On Sunday at 4:30, Pastrňák and the Bruins will take on the Los Angeles Kings, the team that is currently second best in the Pacific Division. On Monday at 2:30, the star forward will look to take down the Anaheim Ducks.
Pastrnak is in great form, he has already scored four times this season and after the curious goal from Thursday’s game he will surely be confident. He knows he can score even when things don’t go according to plan.
Boston lost longtime captain Patrice Bergeron to retirement this summer. David Krejci also left the team. So Pastrnak and co. were more or less written off. However, thanks to Pasto, this is not the case.
It is worth mentioning that last season Pastrňák scored 33 goals in outdoor games. No one was better than him in that regard.

Mrazek and Bedard will face the NHL’sdefending champions
Not only Pastrnak, but also Petr Mrazek will show up in Sunday’s NHL schedule. His Chicago will challenge Las Vegas, last season’s champions, in a tough battle. It will be a big challenge not only for the Czech goalie, but also for youngster Connor Bedard.
Bedard scored three points this season, but it won’t be easy against the Golden Knights. The Stanley Cup holders have collected five wins.
Chicago Blackhawks – Vegas Golden Knights (Sunday, 2:00 a.m.)
Hertl and Zadina lead San Jose
Tomas Hertl and Filip Zadina are among the driving forces behind the San Jose Sharks. While Hertl has four assists, Zadina is the only Sharks player with two goals.
San Jose will be in the country’s capital, Nashville, on Saturday night. The Sharks have picked up the fewest points of any team in the league this season, scoring just one. Will they change that against the Predators?
