Group E
Three goals were scored in the first round group stage showdown between Bayern and a weakened Barcelona. All were scored by the visitors, with Thomas Muller’s first-half goal being followed by two from Robert Lewandowski.
In the parallel match between Dynamo Kiev and Benfica, no goals were scored and Barcelona are currently last in the table.
Group F
Group F offered the biggest surprise of the first round of the group stage. Manchester United were leading in Bern after Cristiano Ronaldo’s goal, but then Aaron Wan-Bissaka was sent off and the home side turned the game around with a goal in stoppage time.
As Villarreal defended a 2-2 draw with Atalanta in the top ten, the Swiss champions are top of their group.
Group G
Group G was a draw. Sevilla’s match with Salzburg offered four penalties, three on the Austrian club’s side, yet the scoreboard was lit up with a 1: 1 score after the final whistle.
In the match between Lille and Wolfsburg, no goal was scored, but the visitors took the point as they played the last thirty minutes shorthanded.
Group H
Both Chelsea and Juventus have three points. The Old Lady beat Malmö with three first half goals, while Chelsea struggled to beat Zenit, with the only goal coming from the in-form Romelu Lukaku.
