Thomas Tuchel has taken over Bayern Munich after the recalled Julian Nagelsmann, and although he has a squad full of big names, he will also be asking for new signings in the summer. The absolute number one on his shopping list then has to be Gavi.
The 18-year-old midfielder is one of Barcelona’s key players for the future, but he is only under contract until the end of the season and Bayern would like to take advantage of that.
The market value of the player is currently estimated at an astronomical €90 million according to specialist website Transfermarkt.
Tuchel is reportedly a big admirer of Gavi’s footballing skills and would love to bring him to his new home.
The young footballer could be given a lucrative long-term contract and become a prominent figure at the Bavarian giant for perhaps the next decade.
However, Gavi is not the only Barcelona player Tuchel intends to bring to Munich. He is also interested in the services of French national team winger Ousmane Dembélé, with whom he is well acquainted from their previous joint engagement at Bayern’s great rival Borussia Dortmund.
On the other hand, Ryan Gravenberch is on his way out of the club, he is being lured by English Liverpool and Tuchel is said not to prevent him from a possible transfer, rather he wants to rely on other midfielders.
The Austrian international Marcel Sabitzer, who is currently only a guest at Old Trafford, may stay permanently at Manchester United, and Serge Gnabry, who is mainly interested in the English Premier League, is likely to get a new contract.
