Trpišovský: We don’t have many options, we believe that Ousou will manage the whole game. Who could possibly surprise him?
Slavia is still plagued by problems at the stopper position, coach Jindřich Trpišovský is not solving anything else. The return of Aiham Ousou should save him for the match against Maccabi Haifa, but his replacement is no longer available.
Slavia is still plagued by problems at the stopper position, coach Jindřich Trpišovský is not solving anything else. The return of Aiham Ousou should save him for the match against Maccabi Haifa, but his replacement is no longer available.
Before this weekend’s match with Liberec, Slavia had no stopper or substitute available, as the only certainty, Tomas Holeš, left the national team training camp injured.
Taras Kacharaba, who returned 14 days earlier than he was supposed to. With a mask on his face he managed the match brilliantly, although he was more careful in header duels. Jakub Hromada, a midfielder, came in next to him, but he was also injured and is not on the roster for the Europa League anyway.
It is great news for Trpišovský that Ousou, who brought a minor injury from the Swedish national team meeting, has recovered.
“Basically all the players who were on the roster and were medically fit for the match left. Compared to Saturday’s game, Aiham, who trained with us and should be able to start, has had his card expire,” said Jindřich Trpišovský at the press conference.
However, if Ousou is unable to play, it could be a big problem for the Sešiovans.
“There are not many options, so we firmly believe that Aiham will be able to play the whole match. He has been working on it for a fortnight, a lot of credit for his comeback goes to the physio team who worked with him every day,” added Trpišovský.
If such a situation did arise, how would the Red and White’s management team handle it?
“Then it’s just backup options like Alex Bah, who played at stopper in Saturday’s game against Liberec, or Dan Samek. Kryštof Obadal is still with us from the B-team, but he is more of an edge defender,” said Trpišovský.
Slavia will play Maccabi on Thursday at the Sammy Ofer Stadium, the match starts at 18:45.
