Trpišovský: Sor trained for the first time as before. We need him to help us

Yira Sor came to Slavia in the winter and was another revelation for Jindřich Trpišovský. He immediately started scoring goals and took the Sšiovans to the quarterfinals of the Conference League. But in the new season, he is still down with injuries, but now hope has sprung up.

Sor started the Cup season the way he ended it. He scored two goals in the second round of the Conference playoffs against St. Joseph’s, but hasn’t been seen since.

He suffered a groin injury, which returned early due to his early return. According to the coaches, he was in his head after that and it was obvious that he was not in good health.

But Slavia were struggling with a big illness and had to use all their legs and arms. So Sor slowly started to come back, he started in the starting line-up in Cluj and Dukla, but his performances were poor and he also renewed his injury.

But now he should hopefully be fine and he could be the secret trump card of the Susians in the duel with Ballkani.

“There is a question mark with Yira. On Monday and Tuesday, he trained as he used to for a long time in full motion and actively with quick changes of direction. He didn’t wonder if something was hurting him,” coach Jindřich Trpišovský said at the press conference.

“He is a player for European matches, he used to perform at his best there, which he hasn’t been doing very well lately. The question is how much of that is due to his health. He is a match option. We will sit with him again after training. He didn’t do well in Cluj or at Dukla. But he has extraordinary quality and we need him to help us,” added the Slavia coach.

Trpišovský also has to deal with the absence of two scorers from the derby. Jakub Hromada and Václav Jurečka are not on the roster for the Conference League. Jurecka will be replaced by either Tecl or the aforementioned Sor, while Slavia will field Christo Tiéhi instead of Hromada.
