Slavia made it through the second game of the Europa League group stage. They defeated Kosovo’s Ballkani 3:2 in Eden and now have four points. What did the coach Jindřich Trpišovský, who definitely could not be satisfied with the performance, say after the match?

Slavia started the game well, but Ivan Schranz only hit the crossbar. It was the visitors who scored for the first time, more precisely Ermal Krasniqi. But David Jurasek reacted to his goal and his shot was knocked into the net by Stivi Frasheri 3 minutes later.

But after half an hour of play Ballkani were happy again, Meriton Korenica taking advantage of a mistake by Christo Tiéhi. Slavia didn’t give up though, with both Peter Olayinka and Lukas Masopust scoring before the end of the half and Slavia suddenly led. And the result 3: 2 was the final one.

“The first home game has always been crucial for us in recent years. In Europe, the best teams from their countries play and almost nobody regularly brings points from away. It is important that we made it three points after the draw with Sivaspor,” said the coach of Slavia at the press conference.

Olayinka became Slavia’s top scorer in European Cups along with Tomas Dosek after his goal against Sivasspor, this time he was the lone goal scorer.

“I want to congratulate Ollie very much, he has reached an impressive milestone. It shows his uniqueness. He is one of the last strongmen of our first season. I am very happy for him, it was not an easy transfer. I’m glad he has maintained his performance and hunger,” added Trpišovský.

Fans were concerned about the health of Ivan Schranz, who had to be carried off the pitch on a stretcher. But the experienced coach suggested it might not be that bad.

“Ivan Schranz looked better than it looked after the game. Hestill has to undergo some tests, I don’t want to jinx it, but it shouldn’t be serious,” he consoled the fans.

EDIT:: Jaroslav Tvrdik announced that Ivan Schranz has been hospitalized in neurosurgery with a head and cervical spine injury and is unlikely to play in the fall.
