Trpišovský: One player from the starting lineup will definitely not start, the other two will be seen. How did the break help?

On Tuesday, Slavia will face a rematch of the third round of the Champions League against Ferencváros, and they have to make up for a two-goal deficit. Jindřich Trpišovský hinted at the press conference how the home team’s line-up will be changed.

Petr Ševčík had to be substituted in the first half at the Groupama Arena after he was unluckily injured by an opposing player. Peter Olayinka replaced Srdjan Plavsic at half-time, Ivan Schranz and Petar Musa came on in the 53rd minute to liven up the game, while Lukáš Masopust and Jan Kuchta left the field.

“There will be some changes in the line-up, some of them due to health reasons. One player won’t start 100% and two of them will have to be seen. The absences concern two players from the starting line-up and one player who was substituted in the first match,” said Jindřich Trpišovský at the press conference.

Petr Ševčík is expected to be 100% absent. His condition didn’t look good after the game and he probably won’t start the match.

Slavia postponed the league match to prepare for an extremely important rematch, which angered many fans of other clubs. The Sešiovans wanted to have the same preparation time as Ferencváros, who also postponed the league match. How did they use the free time?

“We could analyse the first match much more and practise model things based on the first match. We spent every day analyzing the match and looking for improvements. When you have personal experience with an opponent, there is much more material than if you have never met them. We used our free time to work,” Trpišovský explained.

Tomas Holeš is one of the heroes of the last season, but he wants to build on his personal success in the current one. And he hopes that the fans of Slavia will be able to drive the players to the desired promotion.

“We talk about the matches every day in the cabin. We feel under pressure, it’s a big deal, it’s Champions League qualification. I believe that the fans will help us advance in the home environment,” says the midfielder.
