Trpišovský: Krmenčík looked great in training. With Kuchta, he’s going to spin. What about Holeš?

Slavia will play Maccabi Haifa at home on Thursday, the first match on the Israeli opponent’s soil went badly wrong. Now, however, Jindřich Trpišovský’s charges are strengthened by two league wins, especially the victory over the leader from Plzeň will give the team the necessary confidence.

The Sešiwani started their journey through the Conference League quite well, beating Union Berlin 3-1 at home. But then came a 1:2 loss at Feynoord and a shocking 0:1 defeat at Maccabi.

In the fourth round, the Seychellois have to work hard. And Michael Krmencik, who has been getting a lot of press in the last few days, should help.

Trpišovský did not reveal whether he will start from the beginning or not, but he hinted that he and Kuchta will rotate both in the match and towards Sunday’s game against Pardubice.

Kuchta’s last two games didn’t work out completely, but the team didn’t prepare such a service for him. We solved it together. In my head, one of the forwards will start Thursday’s game and the other will finish it, and it will turn around on Sunday. Michael looked great in training,” Trpišovský said at the press conference.

And what about the absences in the Red and White squad? Key stopper Ondřej Kúdela is still unavailable, but Tomas Holeš is included in the nomination for the match after a long time. According to the coach, he won’t start in the starting lineup, but there is a chance that he will be part of the match.

“There will definitely be changes in the line-up. Two players who were in the nomination for Plzeň will probably be missing due to their health condition. Tomáš Holeš will join us, but he won’t play from the start, there is also a chance for Oscar to start,” Trpišovský said.

Slavia wants to return the defeat from the first match to their Israeli opponents, but it will not be easy. Maccabi has shown that it has quality and can beat any opponent. What does Trpišovský expect from the duel in Eden?

“If I had to guess, the opponent will rely on similar things as in the first match. He will play in a compact block and on quick counterattacks. They are very dangerous in the open space. I’m convinced that our performance will be much better,” the Slavia coach is sure.
