Slavia will play a rematch of the fourth round of the Conference League against Raków Częstochowa in Eden on Thursday at 7 p.m. Jindřich Trpišovský doesn’t want to fail after the first defeat.
The first game went badly wrong for Slavia. Raków was the better team in the first half, Susiovans were not at all in their skin, they looked scared and could not get any real chances.
Ivi Lopéz capped off a good half with a beautiful goal, and in the second half Slavia just equalised, although there were no chances. Holeš’s left-footed centre ended up in the net.
Immediately from the set piece, however, Raków went back in front, their player was not guarded by Srdjan Plavsic. Slavia went into the rematch with a 1: 2 defeat.
Of course, this is not unplayable, one goal scored by Slavia will send the match into extra time. However, if the Red and Whites fail to win the match, they will say goodbye to the European Cup.
“I don’t think about failure, I am convinced that we will manage the rematch. We will get the best out of ourselves, the grass will be burning in Eden, we will squeeze the maximum out of ourselves and learn from the first match. We definitely have the strength to do it,” said coach Zdenek Trpišovský at the press conference.
“Raków will take into account the result from the first game, as well as the things that worked for them, the stubborn defensive effort. We have to change the mentality, it will come with the support of our fans. We have to improve the combativeness and the intensity of the game,” Trpišovský urges his charges.
“This is the most important game of the season for us. We have experienced many of them, but the rematch with Częstochowa is crucial for us now. It’s a big deal, we are all aware of that,” says captain Tomáš Holeš.
