Transfer of the summer: Xavi wants Guardiola to bring Silva over. Will a miracle happen?

Bernardo Silva doesn’t fill the headlines every day like others, but he surpasses the vast majority of footballers in quality and hard work. It’s no wonder Pep Guardiola can’t get enough of him. Only, the Portuguese midfielder is also liked by Xavi, who wants to bring him to Barcelona. But is it even realistic?

Silva has played 50 games for the Citizens this season, scoring 13 goals and assisting 7 others. Along with Kevin De Bruyne, he is an absolutely indispensable part of the midfield line for the Spanish coach, with the 27-year-old technician occasionally shifting into an attacking trident that most teams can’t cope with.

At 173 centimetres and 64 kilos, he often struggles in duels, but his agility and excellent technique make up for it. A great player for Barcelona without any doubt, who is also at the peak of his career.

This is also why, according to the Spanish daily Marca, the Catalan club’s management has apparently met with his agent Jorge Mendes to discuss possible transfer options. But the current situation is known to all – Barcelona have no money.

Erik ten Hag wants to follow up with the Dutch midfielder from Ajax and apparently negotiations are already underway, as the Red Devils have already sent a first offer to the Camp Nou, which according to Marca is worth €80 million.

Barcelona have a lot on the table, so it will be interesting to see what magic the management of the indebted club will come up with to accommodate Xavi.
