Trading the jersey for chips! Young boy surprises Real Sociedad star Takefusa Kubo
It is quite common in the football world for players to give their jerseys to fans, especially children. But it’s not so common that they get something back in return. Takefusa Kubo was very surprised by the return gift.

Takefusa Kubo shines in a Real Sociedad jersey
Takefusa Kubo has had an interesting career. At the age of ten he moved from Japan to Barcelona, but he didn’t like it very much and after four years he returned to Tokyo. But he impressed and so Real Madrid snapped him up in 2019.
After acclimatising at Castilla Royal Club, he headed to Mallorca on loan. He recorded a 4+4 record and was predicted to have a great future.
That’s why he moved up a level to Villarreal from the new season. However, he didn’t do well there and didn’t play much, so he left for Getafe in the winter. He didn’t do well there either, so he returned to Mallorca, where he did best.
Even this guest stint was not successful, so Real Madrid broke their grip on Cuba and sold him for 6 million euros to Real Sociedad. In the Basque Country, however, the Japanese has finally had a chance to baptize.
Last season he scored 9 goals and added 6 assists, he is doing great in the new season as well. In ten La Liga games, he has already scored 5 goals, added two assists and is La Real’s best player.
A jersey for chips
No wonder he is attracting a lot of attention from the fans. In the 1/64 final of the Copa del Rey, Real Sociedad took on third-league side CD Bunol. Kubo was only spared on the bench, as the San Sebastian side faces a weekend showdown with Barcelona.
During the match, the young boy asked Kubo for his jersey, which he gave him without any problem. But the young fan is obviously well behaved and didn’t want a free jersey.
So he made his way back to his seat, grabbed a bag of potato chips and headed for the Real Sociedad bench. He called out to Cub and handed him the bag of potato chips, supposedly for the bus. The excited fan then ran back to the stands.
