The Czech professional competitions have already retired for the summer, but the third league is still being played and the CFL in Group A is all about entertainment. There is only one round to play and five teams will be fighting for the title!
Specifically, let’s start from the top, the competition is now led by the reserve of Prague Slavia, who today defeated Písek 5: 0. But how is it possible that it is suddenly so high? It’s Slavoj Vyšehrad.
It was eliminated and could not play a single match in the spring. Now Vyšehrad’s matches have been cancelled and Slavia, who lost to them in the autumn, has made a profit.
The second Vltavín and the third Králův Dvůr, who have 48 points equal to Slavia, beat Vyšehrad, so they were not pleased with the annulment. The fourth place is occupied by Plzeň reserve, which is two points behind.
Domažlice, who lost to Motorlet on Saturday, have the same number of points, which can be a real pity for them. However, they still have a chance to make things right at the end of the competition.
There is a lot to look forward to next weekend. Slavia B hosts Viktoria Plzeň B, both teams will have their motivation taken care of. Vltavín go to Povltavská FA, who are in the last non-relegation place.
The Prague team is not doing very well, they have only got a point from their last three games. The third team, Králův Dvůr, hosts Domažlice, so another very interesting duel awaits us.
What is the key to the title? Vltavín has it in its pocket in case of victory, because it has a better record with Slavia and Králův Dvůr. Slavia then has a better record against Kralove Dvur and will be second in the standings if they win.
By coincidence of several results, Plzeň and Domažlice can then celebrate as well. An extra paradox is that the last round is not played on the same date. On Friday, there will be a match between Králův Dvůr and Domažlice, the rest will be played on Sunday.
Vltavín plays last and will know how it is doing. However, there are much fewer teams fighting for promotion than for the title. Vltavín and Dvůr want the title, but according to the latest information they are not going to the higher league.
The remaining three can fight for it. Whoever finishes first, or just behind Vltavín and Králův Dvůr, will face the first team from Group B in the barrage for promotion.
This will be Zápy or Přeperě. But it is a question how these teams are going to qualify. The first mentioned team is rather skeptical about advancing, the second one is still thinking.
