Saturday’s football programme will feature, among others, the London derby between Tottenham and Brentford. The home team is in seventh place in the Conference League, while the visitors are only thinking about the cups in theory. What to expect from the match?

Tottenham already wish it was the end of the season. It won only one of the last six rounds, got a shameful sixth place from Newcastle and dropped from the Top 4 to the seventh place. Moreover, eighth-placed Aston Villa are only a score worse.

Although Brentford have won three of the last four rounds, the blow for them was the week’s announcement of Ivan Toney’s suspension. The club’s top scorer will not play for eight months. Brentford are sorry until the new season, they are no longer playing for anything in the current one.

Tottenham’s key figures

The home side rely on Harry Kane, one of the nominees for the player of the season award, boasting 29 goals and five assists. Heung Min Son is coming into decent form, with the Korean winger netting 14 goals and ten assists.

Brentford’s key figures

In the absence of Toney, the visitors will rely on Bryan Mbeum, author of seven goals and six assists. Yoane Wissa will also get more game time, having netted six goals and assisted twice so far.

If anything is working for Tottenham, it’s definitely the attack. They have scored more than once in four of their last seven games. Only Bournemouth have fallen at home in the past nine games, part of that record includes a triumph over the Citizens.

Brentford, on the other hand, have only struck more than once in three of their last eight games, and that was with Toney still in the line-up. With 54 hits, the Bees already have the second worst attack in the Top 9 of the Premier League.

Considering the productivity factor and the chemistry of the Kane, Son duo as well as the very noticeable absence of Toney for Brentford, I think Tottenham fighting for the cups in front of their home fans will not hesitate to win.
