Sandro Tonali’s transfer from AC Milan to Newcastle United is reportedly imminent. The player has agreed personal terms according to Italian media, with Fabrizio Romano reporting that the two clubs have entered the final stages of negotiations. The transfer fee is expected to be around €70 million.

The potential transfer of Tonali from Milan to Newcastle has gathered pace very quickly. Just a few dozen hours ago, it looked like Tonali wasn’t going anywhere after the Rossoneri rejected an initial offer of €50 million.

But now it looks exactly the opposite. In fact, Newcastle have increased their offer to €70 million, according to several reliable sources, with both clubs entering the final stages of negotiations.

The transfer fee should therefore be in the region of this amount, after which the bonuses resulting from his potential new engagement are still in play.

In fact, AC’s management stated when they sent their first offer that they were not going to listen to offers of less than €80 million. However, with the aforementioned transfer sum and bonuses, this matter takes on a whole new level.

As already reported by well-known journalist Fabrizio Romano, and consequently Gianluca Di Marzio of Calciomercato, Tonali has reportedly already agreed personal terms.

On the basis of these, he should earn eight million euros a year, plus another two million in performance bonuses. Tonali is expected to sign until the end of June 2029, which is in line with Newcastle’s long-term project and plans.

Tonali’s replacements

But the Milanese big club is certainly not sleeping, quite the opposite. It has been very active in the transfer market so far, with AC wanting to acquire three players with the money made from the transfer of the Italian international.

And not just any players. The transfer of Marcus Thuram from Borussia Mönchengladbach looks very serious and would significantly increase the competition in AC’s attack. He is out of contract in Germany in a few days, the French striker should immediately become one of the highest paid players.

Another possible reinforcement is Davide Frattesi from Sassuolo, who was also interested in Inter Milan. But if Tonali does indeed leave, AC will push just for the signing of the 23-year-old international. The price tag is set at around €40 million.

The last current name is the young Turkish talent Arda Guler from Fenerbahce. Barcelona are also interested in him, but according to Italian media, AC are Guler’s first choice if he does indeed leave Istanbul.

Frankfurt’s Daichi Kamada is also expected to move to the San Siro this summer, while the transfer of Christian Pulisic or Ruben Loftus-Cheek from Chelsea was also a much-discussed topic until recently.
