Tomas Vaclik at Real Madrid? He didn’t want to do a double, but such a transfer is not rejected

According to the world-famous Spanish daily AS, Real Madrid should pursue Czech goalkeeper Tomáš Vaclík, whose contract with Sevilla has expired.

Tomáš Vaclík is preparing for the European Championship with the national team after the end of his contract with Sevilla, where he will most likely be the number one goalkeeper.

After the European Championship, the Ostrava native could stay in the Iberian Peninsula as Real Madrid are interested in him.

The 13-time Champions League winner is looking for an experienced goalkeeper to back Thibaut Courtois. Andriy Lunin and Diego Altube have been possible replacements for the Belgian international this season, but they are young players who would be more likely to benefit from a loan spell.

The Vítkovice alumnus lost his position as Sevilla’s number one at the start of 2019 when he had a knee injury and the chance was given to Moroccan goalkeeper Bono, who saved Sevilla’s Europa League win and therefore remained number one the following season.

The former Sparta or Basel goalkeeper also had a knee problem at the turn of 2020 and 2021, when it sidelined him for 2 months.

It can be expected that Vaclik will receive several offers from different clubs that will want to recruit an experienced goalkeeper to their squad for free.
