The Czech duo of Tomas Soucek and Vladimir Coufal also had a fantastic season for West Ham, and both were awarded for their efforts. The Czech midfielder received the award for Hammer of the Year and the team’s top scorer along with Antonio. Coufal was again named player of the season.

West Ham enjoyed a breakthrough season under David Moyes, which ended with a successful Europa League qualification. And the Czech duo of Tomas Soucek – Vladimir Coufal have played a big part in that.

A few days before the start of the new season, the London club decided to give out a total of eight individual awards for the previous one and one team award.

The best team performance was chosen for the 3-0 win against Leicester in the 4th round of the Premier League. In the ‘Player’s Project’ category, Mark Noble won the award for his work in the community.

The tackle of the season was Fabianski’s save on the line against Victor Lindelöf’s shot and the young player of the season was 21-year-old central defender Ben Johnson, for whom the finished season was the first with more than three starts for the men’s A-team.

The Dylan Tombides trophy, for a member of the academy and with achievements from a school environment, was awarded to Jayden Fevrier. The goal of the season was, as expected, Lanzini’s long-range shot in the six-goal draw with Tottenham Hotspur.

And now for the awards with Czech participation. First, the team’s top scorer. An award that was split between Michail Antonio and Tomas Soucek, as both scored ten goals.

The award for the man of the season went to Czech defender Vladimír Coufal. He surprised the English fans especially with his quick adaptation, having already played 34 games in his first season in the Islands and notched 7 assists.

“I really appreciate it because I’m not a player who usually wins trophies, so I don’t know what to say. I’m really happy, thank you,” said a happy Coufal after receiving the trophy.

And the biggest award of all after this season went to Tomáš Souček. After another stellar year, he was voted Hammer of the Year. During the 2020/21 season, he played 38 games and contributed to 17 goals.

And who was right behind Tomas Soucek in the fan voting, you ask? Well, who else but Vladimír Coufal, who overtook even Declan Rice. The English international closed the imaginary podium with his position.

“Thank you very much, I appreciate it because this season has been amazing for me. I hope everyone enjoyed it with me and I hope it will continue like this. I appreciate this award very much,” said the current most valuable Czech football player when he received the award.
