Tomas Soucek scored for the second game in a row! Will he convince the coach of his importance?

Czech midfielder Tomáš Souček, who plays for West Ham London, is showing a lot in the preparation matches. Even though he plays in a defensive position, he is able to assert himself. In two consecutive games he has managed to score a goal, which could convince the coach that he is still one of the most important players for the Hammers.

Soucek didn’t have the best end to last season. Coach Moyes was not happy with his performances and there was long speculation whether the Czech midfielder would change the club colours. Juventus and teams in England were interested. However, no official offer came.

So the captain of the Czech national football team stayed in East London and decided to fight for a place in the starting line-up. He managed to score in the preliminary matches against Rangers and Luton.

The match against the Scots West Ham lost 1: 3. Soucek’s goal did not lead to victory in the match against Luton, where the London team only drew 1: 1 with the second league team.

However, for the Czech fans it can be a positive that Soucek is scoring well, even when he plays in a defensive position.

At the beginning of his time in England, Soucek played alongside Declan Rice. Towards the end of last season, however, the Czech international moved more backwards and retracted more often, with his English counterpart playing more offensively and massively supporting West Ham’s attacking efforts.

Another Czech, Vladimír Coufal, has also been a regular in the Hammers’ preparations. In the upcoming match, West Ham will play against French side Racing Lens.

It will be a dress rehearsal for West Ham before the start of the Premier League. Gianluca Scamacca, the new signing of the London club, who came from Sassuolo, could also appear in the match.
