West Ham United beat Everton by a narrow 1: 0. Only Tomáš Souček, who played less than 80 minutes for the Kladivars, came on as a substitute.

London West Ham travelled to Liverpool to face Everton in the 8th round of the Premier League. The Hammers were the more active team in the match and deservedly won, but they struggled to score a goal.

Of the Czech national team players, only Tomáš Souček started the match. Vladimír Coufal could not take part in the match because of a groin injury. Alex Kral was not selected by the coach.

Home side Everton had a nice period before the national break, winning three of their last five games. West Ham, who travelled to Liverpool, have not been enjoying a pleasant period in terms of results. However, after the game everything was different.

The first scoring chance came after about half an hour of play, it was Tomas Soucek who had it. He tried to head the ball into the net, but unfortunately he was offside. After a while Pablo Fornals shot and hit the bar.

The home side made their presence felt in the second half. Salomon Rondon headed just wide after the start of the second half. After an hour of play, the Czech international was again on the scoresheet. He tried to head a centre which went into the penalty area. He missed it by a few centimetres and could have celebrated.

The wait for the goal was quite long. It didn’t come until the 74th minute, when visiting defender Angelo Ogbonna headed in after a corner kick. It was the only goal of the match. West Ham therefore take three points from Liverpool after a 1-0 win.

Tomas Soucek played 79 minutes and then had to make a substitution. He collided with the home team’s Salomon Rondon in a duel and blood appeared on his face. The injury is not serious and he will be available for the next match.

West Ham’s next game is scheduled for 24 October when they welcome city rivals Tottenham to their home stadium. Everton will host Watford next round.
