Tight Spanish boot
With just one minute to spare, the Czech national team could have hung a valuable scalp on its belt: Spain. And who knows if the equalizer was a regulation goal, there is no proof that the ball crossed the goal line in its entirety.
Even so, Spain’s boot of misery was very tight and uncomfortable for the confident visitors. And Kuchta’s parade, when he outfoxed the goalkeeper, will go down in the annals as one of the finest goals ever scored.
After the win over Switzerland, the Czech fans had another amazing evening.
A foreigner takes the Czechs
Sparta continues to strengthen, after right-back Jan Mejdra, the representative left-footed line rider Jaroslav Zelený, the Olomouc talent Kryštof Daněk signed at Letná. The new Danish coach Brian Priske has an overview of quality players from the Czech league. Or are reinforcements being selected without his blessing?
Rival Slavia is not sleeping either, they have acquired Václav Jurecka, the goal scorer of 1. FC Slovácko. He is well known to everyone on the management team, including coach Jindřich Trpišovský.
The Extraordinary General Meeting does not bend the statutes
Petr Fousek, the president of the FAČR, condemned the action of the F-evolution movement for calling an extraordinary general assembly aimed at making personnel changes in the association’s management. He even compared it to the methods of Islamic fundamentalism – beware of strong comparisons!
However, an extraordinary general assembly honours the statutes and is much cleaner than removing inconvenient people by bending them, as happened under the former Berbere regime in the Ústí region, where the duly elected regional chairman Josef Tancoš was liquidated in violation of the regulations. However, within the framework of a proper general meeting.
In addition, the chairman of the steering committee for Bohemia, Martin Drobny, is a very sensitive figure, a close associate of Chief Berbra. He preferred not to run for the executive committee, nor to comment on it, he followed the lucrative position like a chicken… And the vice-chairman for Bohemia, Jan Richter, does not enjoy a good reputation either.
Let the delegates – exactly according to the rules – determine who they want to be in charge. Perhaps at an extraordinary general meeting.
The Golden Ball competition
For years, they have clashed in the Golden Ball poll for the best footballer in the world, but now there is a long-distance shootout between them. Seven-time winner of the prestigious award, Lionel Messi netted five goals for Argentina against Estonia in training in Pamplona, Spain. He thus improved the Argentine national team’s record to 86 accurate shots.
Portugal’s rivals have two fewer Ballons d’Or, but they are more skilful at the national level. In the UEFA Nations League in Group A, where the Czech team is also playing, he charged Switzerland with two hits, and in total he has already scored 117, no one on earth is better.
How long will these greats continue to amaze with their performances?
The Hungarians do not kneel before hypocrites
The English team, who last year took advantage of a patronizing environment to reach the Euro finals, fell 0-1 in Hungary. No wonder, without the home environment and the support of the powerful, they don’t put in great performances.
But coach Gareth Southgate was astonished that Hungarian children, who were only allowed into the stadium, booed his charges when they knelt in support of the fight against racism. He hit back at their parents for having picked up a disdain for human values from them.
In doing so, he forgot how English fans at last year’s Euros booed during the anthem, attacked a Danish girl, and dazzled the opposing goalkeeper with a laser. And racial slavery, a blight on human history, is linked to his nation, not Hungary’s. The Huns carry other sins from the past.
