Great news? The UFC could return to Central Europe. Czech fans dream that the best organization on the planet could return to Prague, but there is no information about it yet. Still, it will be nice to know that it could soon be introduced in our neighbours.

The Czech Republic and Poland are countries within the European continent that have a big say and a big popularity in MMA. That is also why it is often discussed when the UFC, which regularly returns to England or France, will appear here again.

The UFC appeared in Prague in 2019, and the last time it was in Poland was in 2017. Last year, there was already talk of a possible return to the Czech capital, but now it does not look promising. However, a return to Poland could work out.

The biggest MMA organization on the planet has appeared twice in the country of our neighbors. In 2015 the UFC showed up in Krakow, in 2017 it headed to Gdansk for a change. And that Poland is high on the organization’s list was confirmed directly by UFC representative David Shaw.

“We recently talked about Dublin, we haven’t been to Glasgow for a long time and we’re also thinking about Manchester. It’s hard for me to make a concrete statement, but Poland is also on our list,” Shaw was quoted by Polish site In The Cage.

“We have a great relationship with Polsat, we were recently in Gdansk and I remember how intense it was. Poland is really high on our list, but I can’t promise anything yet,” Shaw added.

It’s worth noting that there are several interesting fighters in the UFC right now. Veteran Jan Blachowicz has already promoted several fights with Jiri Prochazka, Mateusz Gamrot is climbing up the lightweight rankings.

Add to that the fact that there are also interesting prospects from the Czech Republic or Slovakia fighting in the organization, and Poland could be an imaginary goldmine.

Moreover, there is a great hunger for MMA in both Poland and the Czech Republic, as the numbers of domestic organizations KSW and Oktagon, which sell out really big tournaments, clearly speak for it.
