After Thursday’s rematches of the Europa League and Conference League play-offs, we already know all the players who will advance to the next group stage of the cups. How did the matches develop with regard to the Czech coefficient?
European League
In the Europa League, it was pleasing to see Danish Silkeborg drop out at the expense of HJK Helsinki and Malmö advance at the expense of Turkish Sivasspor. The Prague teams are heading to the Conference League, but the road to the play-offs is much harder.
On the other hand, the coefficient does not play into the hands of Turkish Fenerbahce over Austria Vienna, Swiss Zurich over Hearts, Cypriot Omonia at the expense of Ghent and Greek Olympiakos instead of Apollon Limassol.
Conference league
In the Conference League, Czech national players Tomáš Souček and Vladimír Coufal secured clear promotion.
The former scored and assisted once in the 3-0 win. Danish Viborg is thus out, which is good for the coefficient.
Viking didn’t finish their fairy tale. After the surprising elimination of Sparta, it then clearly outplayed Sligo Rovers, going into the play-off rematch with FCSB with a one-goal lead. They held out hopes of extra time until the second half, but scored from the penalty spot in the 94th minute to make it 1: 3.
Other excellent news is the end of the Swiss Young Boys Bern on penalties against Anderlecht, the Israeli Maccabi Tel Aviv after extra time against Nice and the Croatian Hajduk Split against Villarreal.
What is not pleasing, on the other hand, are the progress of Switzerland’s Basel over CSKA Sofia, Israel’s Hapoel Beer Sheva over Craiova, Norway’s Molde at the expense of Wolfsberg and Turkey’s Basaksehir Istanbul instead of Antwerp.
