Victor Osimhen is undoubtedly one of the hottest signings of this summer transfer window. Several European big clubs are interested in him, but Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has made it clear that the only club that can actually acquire him is PSG.

Manchester United, Chelsea or Liverpool, for example, announced their interest in signing the Nigerian star striker Victor Osimhen before the summer transfer window even started.

However, as Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has previously stated, if anyone really wanted to bring the Lagos native, they would have to come up with at least €180 million.

Osimhen is currently under contract at the reigning Serie A champions until the end of June 2025. De Laurentiis has also previously stated that the priority for the Partenopei is to keep the Lagos native. However, should a solid offer come in, Napoli are said to be willing to negotiate.

However, interest from English big clubs has been deterred by such a set price tag. This is not the case with Paris Saint-Germain.

In fact, it is likely that the French giant will lose superstar Kylian Mbappé this year. So the club’s management is understandably looking for a replacement, with Osimhen being the number 1 priority in the event of Mbappe’s departure.

“The only club that can afford Osimhen is Paris Saint-Germain. If Nasser Al Khelaifi wants to send an offer of around €200 million… Let’s wait and see what happens. Personally, I think Victor will stay here,” said De Laurentiis on the whole situation, whose words are also quoted by Fabrizio Romano.

Jonathan David as a replacement for Osimhen?

Earlier we reported that if Osimhen would indeed leave Naples, the management of the club from the city under Vesuvius has chosen Jonathan David from Lille as a replacement. It should be noted, it was from the French club that Osimhen transferred to the Partenopei.

Specifically in 2020 for 75 million euros. Since then, he has played 101 competitive matches for Napoli, scoring 59 goals and adding 14 assists.
