And it’s almost definite! Nicolo Zaniolo will leave AS Roma for Galatasaray Istanbul. The transfer fee is expected to be 15 million euros, plus another seven million in bonuses. Zaniolo was supposed to sign a contract until 2027.

According to Italian football site Football Italia, the transfer fee is €15 million, plus another €7 million in bonuses.

The aforementioned website also writes that Zaniolo preferred Galatasaray’s interest over Fenerbahce’s also because the team has had players who also used to play Serie A for a long time.

Specifically, they are Dries Mertens, Mauro Icardi and Lucas Torreira. It should be noted, AC Milan were also interested in Zaniola earlier, with the Massa native himself reportedly in favour of the transfer.

But in the end, everything fell through and the 23-year-old offensive midfielder will move to Turkey, which incidentally has been hit by a strong earthquake in the last few dozen hours. And apparently it also slowed down the negotiations for a new contract a bit.

Nevertheless, Zaniolo should earn €3.6 million per season in Istanbul. As part of the original agreement, then 15% of the sale sum belongs to Inter Milan.

Another important element that Zaniolo insisted on was an exit clause allowing him to return to Serie A next season. As for the amount of this clause, Galatasaray set it at €35 million.
