Borussia Mönchengladbach, Mainz, Darmstadt, Bochum and Cologne – these are the five clubs still waiting for their first win in the new Bundesliga season.
With this negative performance, these clubs are rewriting the history of the German top flight. This has never happened before in the history of the Bundesliga.
Mönchengladbach, where Czech goal scorer Tomáš Čvančara is also based, started the new season with an away draw at Augsburg. It should be noted that this match offered the fans eight goals, with former Spartan Čvančara scoring twice.
After that, Borussia lost twice – first against Leverkusen (0:3) and then against Bayern (1:2). In the fourth round, Gladbach got a point for a 3:3 draw at Darmstadt, which was saved by Cvančara.
The last time Borussia lost 0:1 at home to Leipzig. Currently, the whole team around Cvančara is in the fifteenth place in the league table, one position above the relegation places.
Bochum have the most points out of the five. The latter first lost 0:5 to Stuttgart in the opening round, but drew with Dortmund (1:1), Augsburg (2:2) and Frankfurt (1:1) in the next three rounds.
In the last five rounds, however, the team scored seven times against Bayern. Cologne are currently sixteenth, with only one point in five games.
Darmstadt and Mainz are currently in the relegation places. Both teams also have one point, Darmstadt have scored the most goals (16) of any Bundesliga team so far.
