The situation in the UFC welterweight division is very interesting at the moment. Jiri Prochazka as champion will defend the belt against Glover Teixeira, whom he defeated for the title in a memorable battle. However, arranging the rematch was not easy.

The title shot was promised to Magomed Ankalaev, who often and openly criticized the Moravian fighter, tried to provoke him and asked for attention. Jan Blachowicz, whom Procházka would like to actually fight one day if it is on the agenda, behaved similarly.

The Polish fighter was very popular on our territory, but he lost a lot of fans with his regular knockdowns of the Moravian champion. However, it is understandable that he wants the title he held not long ago back.

Now, however, both will probably get an excellent opportunity to claim the title fight for good. That’s because, according to ESPN’s Brett Okamoto, a journalist who has nearly 100% accuracy on his information, Blachowicz and Ankalaev will face each other in the cage.

It will happen at UFC 282, which the UFC is planning for December 10 in Las Vegas. A win will very likely determine the name of the next challenger.

Let’s hope that Prochazka will make it through his rematch with the Brazilian and retain the title if only to repay Ankalaev or Blachowicz for their earlier “nagging”.
