These are the best performances since I’ve been here, beamed Xavi

Barcelona is in excellent form. At the weekend, they blasted Betis with five goals, and on Tuesday they gave five goals to Antwerp. No wonder Xavi was beaming after the game.
Even with virtually no money, Barcelona have strengthened brilliantly over the summer. Ilkay Gündogan arrived as a free agent, João Félix and João Cancelo came on loan for free and Lamine Yamal was added to the youth team. In addition, Oriol Romeu arrived for around 3 million euros.
Barcelona still stumbled in the first round of La Liga, drawing 0-0 with Getafe. Since then, however, the losses have been bouquets. They have beaten Cadiz, Villarreal, Osasuna and Betis in succession.
It was the Andalusian opponent that was supposed to be a tough nut to crack, but Barcelona blew Betis away 5: 0. João Félix, who has been doing well in Barcelona, was particularly good.
A few days later, another cannonade came when the Catalans scored five goals against Antwerp in the Champions League. They have thus started the group stage well, which is crucial for their self-confidence, as the last two years the group stage has put a stop to them.
And so it’s no wonder Xavi was beaming with happiness. “I’m satisfied and very happy. Not only because of the result, but also because of the way we played. Saturday and today were the best performances we’ve had under me as coach,” Xavi enthused at the press conference.
Logically, a lot of questions were directed at Joao Félix. “His individual quality is excellent. Moreover, he is humble and intelligent enough to know that he has to work hard. He enjoys it, he is very happy. We need to keep it up,” the Barcelona coach praised his charge.
The Catalans now face Celta Vigo, away at Mallorca and at home against Sevilla. If they maintain their current form, it should be 9 points without any major problems.
