On Sunday, 24th October, Tottenham will face a very difficult game at West Ham United in the ninth round of the English top flight. John Wenham, a reliable source close to the club, sent a very nice statement about Tomas Soucek and Vladimir Coufal. What does it say?

John Wenham regularly updates the club on his twitter account (Lilywhite Rose – ed.). Now he has given a statement to Football Insider on which West Ham players Tottenham are most worried about in connection with this weekend’s duel.

“West Ham have had another really good season this year. Hats off to David Moyes, who has built a great team and signed great players,” Wenham told Football Insider.

“We’ve never heard of players like Coufal or Soucek before. Now you would say they could play in most Premier League teams, ” he continued.

“They both work very hard. Soucek never misses a tackle, he never stops in the middle of the park. They never run out of energy,” he explains.

“He is a player we will have to reset if we are to have any hope of success,” he adds.

He also adds that the Hammers have real quality. Another player with great form and style of play, according to him, is Pablo Fornals. He is also said to be able to cause a lot of damage to Tottenham in Sunday’s game.

“We’ve already mentioned three great players and we haven’t even got to Declan Rice, for example. They have impressed a lot of people, including me. We will have to give a very good performance to have a chance of a good result,” Wenham concluded.

The fact is that Spurs failed to beat West Ham last season. In the 5th round of last season at home they were 3:0 up after 16 minutes, but the Hammers managed to equalise sensationally at the end of the game and took a point for a 3:3 draw.

And in the return match of the season, this time at West Ham’s home stadium, Soucek and co. Tottenham lost 1: 2.

The current form of both teams is very balanced. As for the position in the table, West Ham is currently in seventh place with 14 points. Tottenham, in fifth position, have a one-point lead over the Hammers.
