The much anticipated premiere is over. The new Czechoslovak RFA organization has had its first tournament, which offered 15 matches. There was not much to criticize about the matches, but the rest was rather different.
But the owner of the organization, Boris Marhansky, was not negative after the tournament. On the contrary. “We were nervous before the tournament, but it turned out great. We got great feedback, a lot of people wrote to us, we had an excellent stream and the atmosphere in the hall was great,” he said at the press conference.
The tournament kicked off with four amateur bouts in which fighters battled for professional contracts. Marhansky confirmed that the RFA wants to follow a similar path in the future. The goal is to bring out new faces and groom new fighters.
As for interest in the tournament, the allowed 50% capacity of the hall was sold out days in advance. Marhansky believes it would have sold out even if the maximum capacity had been allowed. He said the interest in the tournament was enormous.
As excited as he was after the first tournament, he is immediately looking forward to the next one, which will be held on May 14. Even a few matches have already been announced.
“It’s going to be a big show, there will be differently done matches. Overall there will be a lot of things for the fans to look forward to. But we don’t want to reveal them yet, we will reveal them gradually,” Marhansky was quoted as saying.
