Tennis analyst Patrick Mouratoglou described the two different approaches that Novak Djokovic takes in the final duels at Grand Slams. A few days ago, the Serbian tennis player explained his plans for the upcoming period.

Djokovic won his 24th Grand Slam title and his performance deserved a lot of attention from tennis experts. According to French tennis coach and commentator Patrick Mouratoglou, two forms of Djokovic appear in the most important matches of the season.

The first one comes on court as the best player in the world. In this mode, Djokovic simply comes to win the match and achieves his goal with ease.

Occasionally, a different Djokovic will appear in an important match. He enters the match with the goal of not losing, which he usually does, but this Djokovic can be beaten according to the Frenchman.

Judging by the results, it’s clear that in the recent US Open final, the Russian Medvedev met the first version of the world number one. Recall that the Serbian tennis player won the last Grand Slam of the season in three sets.

Djokovic’s change of plans

Meanwhile, the thirty-six-year-old phenomenal tennis player has changed his plans. In a season that is slowly coming to an end, he will not be competing at the Masters in Shanghai, China, as opposed to his original plans.

China has played an important role in the Belgrade native’s career. He has already won four titles from Shanghai. This year he will not add to that great collection.

The chances of Djokovic’s participation exist with the venues in Europe. These take place after the Chinese leg of the tour and will be hosted by Basel, Vienna or Paris, for example.

Finally ..

Djokovic basically confirms the rather well-known fact that he really only concentrates on the brightest highlights of the tennis season. Even the prestigious events at Masters level cannot be sure of the legendary tennis player’s participation.

As far as the two types of Djokovic are concerned, we definitely see the more successful type more often. As of 2018, the Serb has won twelve of his fifteen final appearances at the Majors. The upcoming one in Australia is his most successful ever from his perspective.
