Belgium – Arthur Vermeeren – 19 years old
In 2018, he headed to the Antwerp academy as a free agent. Over the years there, he has developed into a very interesting midfielder who has also managed to settle into the first team’s starting line-up very well. In total, he played seventy-two games here in which he scored three goals and added eight assists.
His potential was noticed by Atletico Madrid’s management this year and the player agreed to sign a contract until 2027. He has since featured in five La Liga games in Spain.
Romania – Radu Drăgușin – 22 years old
In Romania, he is considered one of the greatest talents in modern history. His supporters are expecting fantastic performances from him that could take him even further in his career. Even so, he has been through a lot at the age of 22.
He was acquired by Juventus, in whose colours he came through the youth ranks. He has been a guest at Salernitana, Sampdoria and Genoa. It was the latter that brought him on a permanent transfer in 2022, for which he paid almost ten million euros.
In 2023, he was voted Footballer of the Year in Romania and his price tag flew up. In January this year, he moved to Tottenham, for whom he has also already made five Premier League starts. Transfermarkt has currently set his price tag at twenty-five million euros.
Slovakia – Leo Sauer – 18 years old
Another player in whom not only the Slovakian national football team has high hopes for future tournaments. Eighteen-year-old Sauer started his football career with Slovan Bratislava. He then headed to Žilina, where he got a taste of the Junior Champions League, among other things. Two years ago, he was picked up by Dutch side Feyenoord.
He first worked there as a guest player, but then moved permanently. He has played over fifty games, fifteen of them for the first team.
Slovakia -Georgiy Sudakov – 21 years old
He has spent his entire career so far in the colours of Shakhtar Donetsk. No wonder he has already surpassed the 100 games played there. He has scored 21 times as a midfielder.
On his debut at the championship he was in the starting line-up and played eighty-three minutes. It is possible that he will look for a new job after the tournament.
