Tereza Bledá didn’t make it to the UFC and lost her first fight with Brazilian Silva in the third round after a sensational KO. After her loss, a wave of criticism and hatred descended on internet discussions, to which the well-known coach David Vyvážil decided to respond. Was the criticism of the 20-year-old Czech girl justified?

Tereza Bledá failed in her debut fight in the UFC

Tereza Bledá had an unsuccessful debut in the UFC. After not getting a contract in September following her dominant victory in Dana White’s Contender Series, she was given a chance to prove herself in the world’s top MMA league after only a month.

Her opponent this past weekend was Brazilian fighter Natalia Silva at UFC Fight Night 215 in Las Vegas. With a 13-5 record and a streak of eight straight wins, the 25-year-old South American was the favorite for the fight.

Thus, experience definitely prevailed on Silva’s side and it showed in the fight. Although Bledá gave a sympathetic performance in the first round and even came close to stopping the likeable Brazilian at the end of the round, the next rounds were already in Silva’s hands.

The young Czech was losing mainly in attitude and physical condition. However, the match was decided mainly by the Brazilian’s great fight IQ and excellent gameplan. In the third round Silva took advantage of a read takedown attempt and hit Bleda with a hard spinning kick, which practically ended the fight. She then revealed after the fight that she had been practicing this technique in preparation for the fight.

A wave of criticism erupted in the discussion, to which a well-known MMA coach responded

As it is usual in our society, a huge wave of hatred from the “heroes behind the keyboard” came down on the internet over the performance of the young fighter. The well-known coach David Vyvážil, who works in Renegade gym in Prague, reacted to the mentioned mischief of internet discussions with a sad lament.

“Tereza Bledá lost her first fight in the UFC today, for me as an athlete and MMA coach, it’s a shame, I wished her (and every Czech) a victory,” wrote Vyvážil on his Facebook page.

“I don’t want to comment on the sporting performance, but what caught my attention is the terrible hatred between people. I don’t understand how someone can feel so much hatred for a person they don’t know at all and who daily exceeds his limits of pain, fatigue and will,” he lamented.

“Not to mention that she is a 20-year-old girl who has not hurt anyone, she just tried to give her best performance and represented our republic in the top league of the world,” he continued in his post.

“Attacking her coach André and evaluating her appearance is just the icing on the cake and of course these top comments are from people who have nothing to do with sports or from fake profiles,” he concluded his opinion on the matter.

Is the criticism deserved or did she simply come across a top-class opponent?

We leave it to the readers to decide. Terka’s performance was certainly not ideal, however, this is only her seventh professional MMA match and she was certainly not expecting an easy opponent in her first UFC fight.

Proof of this is the fact that Natalia Silva was awarded the performance of the night by UFC promoter Dana White. The likeable Brazilian took home a bonus worth 50 thousand US dollars with her win.
