Nova TV has acquired the rights to the best football competitions in the world. It will now also broadcast the Champions League. And the first match will be a real attraction, as Nova will broadcast the European Super Cup final between the winner of the Champions League and the Europa League on Wednesday 11 August.
The match between England’s Chelsea and Spain’s Villarreal, which will be played in Belfast, Northern Ireland, will also have a pre-match and half-time studio.
Chelsea qualified for the match by beating Manchester City by the narrowest possible margin in the final of the millionaire’s competition. Villarreal also beat Manchester United, but this time after a penalty shootout.
The Winsdor Park stadium, where the game will be played, has a total capacity of 18 500 spectators. Linfield FC, fifty-five times winners of the Northern Irish top flight, play their home games here.
In addition to the Champions League, Nova has also acquired the rights to the Italian Serie A, the German Bundesliga, the Spanish La Liga and the English FA Cup.
This is why it is launching two new stations – Nova Sport 3 and Nova Sport 4. It is therefore clear that the final played on 11 August will be broadcast by sister stations Nova Sport 1 or Nova Sport 2.
At the same time, Nova is not losing the French Ligue 1, which it has already broadcast in previous seasons.
