Another UFC Fight Night gala brought a lot of interesting fights. One of the ones that lifted the crowd out of their seats was the women’s flyweight division duel, in which Maycee Barber delivered a bloody mauling of Amanda Ribas. Her performance then earned her a bonus for performance of the night.
The UFC’s crazy tournament featured a bloody women’s brawl
Another insane UFC gala! The organization once again showed that even in unnumbered tournaments it can deliver plenty of electrifying fights. The proof of that statement was clearly in last night’s tournament in Jacksonville.
The gala offered many impressive finishes as well as a nasty eye injury after an intense eye poke in the heavyweight bout. Then in the main event of the evening, the featherweight title was claimed after a frighteningly dominant performance by Ilio Topuria, who absolutely demolished the division’s number five contender Josh Emmett.
One of the most attractive bouts of the card, however, came somewhat surprisingly in the only women’s bout of the card. It featured duel favorite Amanda Ribas, who occupies the ninth position of the flyweight division.
Her opponent was the youngest participant on the card, Maycee Barber, who certainly does not lack confidence. After all, at the age of twenty, she had already three victories in the UFC and declared at that time an attack on the status of the youngest champion in the history of the organization, held by the legendary Jon Jones.
But then came two losses and her dream was dashed. But after a change of gimmick, she got back on a winning streak and pulled off a streak of four straight victories. The match with Ribas was supposed to put her in the top ten of the rankings and bring her back closer to her dream title.
The broken noses of both fighters and a fight with amazing pace lifted the crowd out of their seats
The match had an amazing pace from the very beginning and Ribas pressured her opponent from the opening moments. The Brazilian showed great movement and held the center of the octagon, but Barber started to get into the fight midway through the round.
Ribas was able to eliminate her opponent’s power in the standup, but towards the end of the first round she got Barber underneath her and broke her nose with a hard ground and pound. The Brazilian then retaliated with the same coin right at the start of the second, hitting her opponent in the nose with a hard elbow that also drew blood.
🔥 Put some respect on her name!! 😤 FIVE wins in a row for Maycee Barber.

The bloodbath then continued throughout the round, with both opponents landing hard punches that pretty much marred the faces of both fighters. With less than 90 seconds left in the second round, Barber then caught Ribas with a clean head kick that clearly rocked her.
A few more combinations sent her opponent to the ground and hard elbows on the ground forced the referee to stop the crazy fight. Both fighters then received a well-deserved ovation for their performance from the boisterous crowd in the arena.
This will surely give Barber a look at the top ten rankings and she will be looking to get a rematch with the champion Grasso as soon as possible. In addition, she received a performance of the night bonus from Dana White for her performance.
