The UFC has signed a 17-year-old fighter! I’ll become the youngest champion, says Rosas

Seventeen-year-old Raul Rosas Jr. showed up at Contender on Tuesday night and defeated Mando Gutierrez to earn a UFC contract. He becomes the youngest fighter in the organization.
He had his first professional fight last fall. He won six in total and never once tasted defeat. Moreover, the last victory was very important for the career of the 17-year-old talent.
He defeated twenty-five-year-old American Mando Gutierrez in Dana White’s Dontender Series and impressed UFC President Dana White so much that he gave him a contract.
“I was very impressed with the way he was able to handle the whole fight for a 17-year-old. From what I saw, I’m definitely not afraid to pair him up with UFC fighters. This kid is just ready for it,” he said at the press conference.
The fighter himself added his own words. “I’m ready to fight every week or every month. I don’t care. I can rest in retirement. However, we are just getting started, so there is no reason to slow down somehow. It won’t be easy, but what’s easy in life? I don’t care what it takes, but I’m gonna be the youngest UFC champion.
Nobody’s gonna take that away from me. If I have to fight someone in the top 5 right away, I’m in, but I’m ready to fight my way to my chance. I’m just going to become the youngest UFC champion and that’s the way it’s going to be!” rosas said.
Being the youngest UFC champion may very well happen, Jon Jones won it at 23, so he still has more than five years to go. Czech fans, however, are wondering about White’s approach.
Not so much the fact that he engaged Rosas, but rather the way he claimed a few weeks ago that Pale is still too young. Her performance probably didn’t impress her as much as it did Rosas.
