The transfer window is here: which big transfers can we expect?
The January transfer window is here. As usual, we can expect a lot of noise on the market, where teams will be looking for reinforcements. Especially after the World Cup, we can expect some stars to move.
The January transfer window is here. As usual, we can expect a lot of noise on the market, where teams will be looking for reinforcements. Especially after the World Cup, we can expect some stars to move.
In the Premier League, the transfer window opens on Sunday, 1 January 2023 and closes on Tuesday, 31 January at 11pm local time. However, Italian, Spanish and French clubs have to wait until January 2 for the transfer window.
Sofyan Amrabat
Morocco’s World Cup hero in Qatar. The defensive midfielder put in a fantastic performance and ranked among the best players of the entire championship. Fiorentina would like to keep the 26-year-old midfielder until the summer, but the interest from clubs is tempting.
As well as interest in another Moroccan star Azzedine Ounahi, there could also be interest in other players.
Jude Bellingham
There is huge interest in the greatest talent of our time. Real Madrid and Liverpool are vying for Bellingham’s signature, and for both he is first choice for the centre of midfield.
More likely to be a summer transfer though, it doesn’t quite look like a January transfer. However, a quick move in the winter is not out of the question either.
Enzo Fernandez
Another star of the championship in Qatar. The Argentine midfielder has only had half a year in Europe, but he had a good autumn at Benfica and crowned everything with his performances in Qatar.
However, the Lisbon club want over 100 million for him, which is a large sum for a player who has played so little in Europe. Liverpool are the most interested, as they desperately need to strengthen the centre of midfield.
Players whose contracts expire in the summer:
Whoever is out of contract in June can negotiate and sign with a new club in January. There are several such players, here are the top 10::
N’Golo Kante – Chelsea
Jorginho – Chelsea
Youri Tielemans – Leicester
Naby Keita – Liverpool
Wilfried Zaha – Crystal Palace
Milan Skriniar – Inter
Memphis Depay – Barcelona
Evan N’Dicka – Eintracht Frankfurt
Marcus Thuram – Borussia Monchengladbach
Youssoufa Moukoko – Dortmund
