A big blow for MMA fans. Unfortunately, the Polish organization KSW has announced that Viktor Pesta will not be at the tournament in Liberec after Michal Martinek. The reason is reportedly the illness of the Czech fighter.

Is the KSW tournament in Liberec cursed? When the biggest Polish MMA organization announced its gala in the Czech Republic, it was supposed to be attended by the cream of Czech MMA stars.

Probably the biggest fight at the tournament for Czech fans was supposed to be the Polish organization’s heavyweight number three Michal Martinek, who was to face the legendary Polish fighter Daniel Omielanczuk.

Unfortunately, Martínek informed the public that he will not be at the tournament in Liberec due to an untreated hand injury. The organization then announced a replacement, which certainly pleased Czech MMA fans.

The Polish legend, who has also worked in the UFC in the past, was to face Viktor Pesta. The latter had a huge disappointment last year when he crashed hard twice in the chase for one million dollars in the overseas PFL organization.

But fate is playing a nasty game with Czech fans. The organization announced today on its Instagram that Pešta will unfortunately not play in Liberec. “Michal Kita enters the fight with Daniel Omielanczuk. Unfortunately, Viktor Pešta had to withdraw from the fight due to illness,” the announcement of the Polish organization said.

The duel with Omielanczuk, which was supposed to be the main preliminary bout of the night, must be cursed. Thus, a bout between Dominik Humburger and Serbian Nikolic has been announced as the co-main event of the tournament.

The tournament will take place next week on Saturday, February 25, at the Home Credit Arena in Liberec. Even after the loss of two big stars, we can look forward to quality Czech-Slovak fighters.

Apart from Humburger, David Hošek, Petra Částková and Slovak giant Tomáš Možný are going to fight.
