In recent years, we have been used to watching English Premier League matches on Premier Sport channels. But that’s changing from next season. Europe’s leading football competition will be broadcast on our territory by the newly established Canal+ Sport TV station.
Canal+ is a well-known French pay-TV channel, which broadcasts in the Benelux countries and Scandinavia. And now a new sports channel is entering the Czech market under its banner.
Canal+ Sport is scheduled to start broadcasting at the beginning of August. The station should offer live coverage of all 380 matches of the Premier League season. This channel with special studies and other programmes has a contract with operators Skylink and freeSAT. Negotiations are also underway with other companies.
With the 2022/2023 competition season approaching, the new English League broadcaster in the Czech Republic and Slovakia is declassifying the composition of its team. And it looks like some interesting names for commentators and experts.
One of the most prominent faces is Jaromír Bosák, who, according to the latest information, is expected to continue to commentate on national team and cup matches on public Czech television. Slovakian Matúš Lukáš will also be working on Canal+ Sport.
Among the experts will be Jiří Hošek, who left the editorial team of Seznam Zprávy last October. Karel Häring, Karel Tvaroh and Radoslav Kováč will also enrich the programme with their insights.
The upcoming Premier League season kicks off on Friday, August 5, with Crystal Palace and Arsenal. Defending champion Manchester City will enter the season two days later with a duel at West Ham.
