The superfinals of little league football are just around the corner. It features six title games and a raffle
From the morning until the evening, Saturday in Boskovice will belong to small football. After last year’s successful premiere, the Superfinal will take place there again. Unlike last season, however, there are not only two categories. Teams will compete for the title of champions of the Super League of small football in six categories.
The programme will kick off at 10 a.m. when the U20 Superfinal will begin, pitting Staropramen Prague against Brno. The under-23, under-8, under-10 and women’s categories will follow.
Five minutes before six o’clock in the evening, there will be a charity match to celebrate the eight hundredth anniversary of the first written mention of Boskovice and last year’s centenary of FC Boskovice.
The home selection of senior men over forty-five and the team led by Prague Sparta legend Jan Berger will face each other at the Red Garden. Petr Rada, Jan Fiala, Lukáš Zelenka, Richard Dostálek, Radek Šírl or Lukáš Hartig will take the field with the 1980 Olympic champion from Moscow.
The highlight of the day’s programme in Boskovice will be the Men’s Superfinal, in which Staropramen Prague and the defending champion from Brno will clash from 8 p.m. All matches will be broadcast on YouTube and the final will also be shown on CT Sport.
Staropramen Praha will bring a 100-strong team to South Moravia as it is represented in all categories.
“Before the season, I definitely did not expect that we would play the Superfinals in six categories. I have at least two titles in my head, that would be nice and I will be excited. One would be disappointing and if we lose everything I’ll obviously be upset if we go that far. Anything above two titles will be great,” said Václav Socher, the head coach of the Prague team.
Visitors to the Red Garden can look forward to a rich refreshment and accompanying programme including a bouncy castle for children, a mobile bar with a cocktail show and a barbecue all Saturday. There will also be a raffle, where the main prize will be a bicycle worth thirty thousand crowns and another hundred prizes, including footballs, T-shirts and caps.
