Preparations for the new NHL season are in full swing, but the Canadian-American competition offered only three games on Sunday night. However, they also offered beautiful goals and amazing individual actions, one of which was performed by Connor Bedard. But his solo effort didn’t end with a goal.
The Chicago Blackhawks have already played three games in preparation for the new NHL season. The first one ended with a win, beating St. Louis 2-1 in overtime.
However, the other two were not successful. First, the Blackhawks lost to Minnesota 2:3 in overtime, and the last time they lost to Detroit 1:6.
The Red Wings scored after less than three minutes to make it 1:0, Daniel Sprong opened the scoring. Michael Rasmussen added a goal at 11:57 to make it 2-0. Both teams went into the locker room at that point.
However, at the start of the second period, the talented Connor Bedard made a fantastic individual save, but unfortunately his amazing solo goal did not end in a goal.
The 18-year-old Canadian was the number one pick in the last draft, and was drafted by Chicago with the first pick. And he’s already scored his first points in his three games so far.
In the first one, Chicago beat St. Louis 2-1. Bedard had an assist on both of his team’s goals. And he would have scored in the last game against Detroit if he had not converted the aforementioned individual action.
The Red Wings added two more goals in the second period, with Elmer Soderblom, Antti Tuomisto and Rasmussen scoring for the second time in the game.
The Blackhawks reduced the deficit in the fifth minute of the third period, thanks to Louis Crevier. A minute later, however, J.T. Compher sealed the deal for the final 6:1. Detroit won their third game out of four and are in good shape so far.
