After the news broke that the biggest football associations could not prevent the creation of the Super League, the world’s biggest clubs began to express their opinion on whether they would accept the new competition. To date, almost all the biggest clubs have made their minds clear on the whole situation.

Premier League

The management of England’s top competition has issued a statement that it wants to prepare an agreement that will prohibit clubs from joining the Super League or any other newly created competition in the future. Anyway, even before this statement, the clubs themselves were negative about the new competition. Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool, Tottenham and even Arsenal and Chelsea have rejected the new competition.

In their declarations, all clubs express their affection for European competitions such as the Champions League. The English big clubs believe that by increasing the quality of teams from smaller countries, European football will move forward and these clubs want to be part of it.

Bundesliga

Only 2 clubs have been invited from the German top flight. No one will be surprised to learn that these are Bayern Munich and Borrussia Dortmund. Both of these clubs turned down the competition and joined the English clubs. The statement from Dortmund is very clear: “We are not available for the Superliga.”

It is very clear, the door for the Superliga remains closed at Bayern Munich. The competition would represent an attack on domestic competitions and on the status of European football.”

Ligue 1

No one can be surprised that 2 clubs have been invited from the French top flight. Paris Saint-Germain and AS Monaco, the French club owned by Qatari sheikhs, have clearly rejected the competition. In its statement and justification of its position on the competition, PSG mentions above all its support and affection for the model of European competitions. Monaco rejected the competition with similar words.

Serie A

There was only one positive response from Italy’s top competition. Napoli and its president De Laurentiis agree with the new competition: ‘I spoke with Florentino Pérez, we discussed the plans. Football is run by old people without vision.

This makes Napoli the only known team to adopt the Super League, alongside Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Other Italian clubs such as Inter Milan, AC Milan and AS Roma have rejected the competition with similar reasoning to clubs from England or Germany. The position of Juventus of Turin is still unknown as the club’s management has not yet made any statement.

Other clubs disagree with Super League

In addition to the above-mentioned teams that reject the new competition, clubs from smaller countries have also joined in. Ajax and Feyenoord don’t want the Super League, and Copenhagen hasn’t accepted the competition either. Sevilla and Valencia, who also do not want a new competition, have dealt a blow to their own ranks. Florentino Pérez’s plan seems to have ended as quickly as it began.
