The Spanish as favourites for the overall triumph? They are playing awfully well, fans agree

Georgia ends and all of Europe applauds. The debutant of the European Championships has fallen out with Spain, which is playing great in the tournament. They scored for the first time in the eighth round, but the public is thrilled with their performance.

The world media was already writing about the little final in the quarter-final between Germany and Spain when the Spanish scored an own goal in the 18th minute out of nowhere. Everything could have been different, but unlike the English against Slovakia, no one doubted that the Spanish would turn the tide.

They even took on the best goalkeeper of the tournament

A turnaround in normal time was to be expected given the performance so far. The Spaniards were the only team to get through the group stage without losing a point, and they didn’t even score once. And they looked the best of all in terms of performance.

The miraculous Yamal did not set the record

As in the first two group matches, Lamine Yamal started from the first minute. He notched his second assist of the tournament and is tied for first place in the passing chart. He is also the youngest player in the history of the European Championship play-offs.
