Defenseman David Zima had to undergo meniscus surgery, which will sideline him for at least three months. He will most likely miss the rest of the season and will be unavailable for the March national team meeting against Poland and Moldova.
In the summer, Brazilian defender Bremer left FC Torino for rival Juventus for around 50 million euros.
Twenty-two-year-old Zima was supposed to take his place in the line-up, but he has been plagued by health problems this season.
Before the start of the season, he injured his right shoulder in training and dislocated it. The former defender missed three league games because of this injury. After returning to the team, Zima was in the starting lineup sporadically.
The talented defender only played in eleven competitive games this season, scoring one goal. And he won’t add another start for some time.
Towards the end of January, Zima started having problems with his knee, which eventually had to be solved by surgery.
According to the first estimates, the national defender was supposed to be out of action for a month, but after the operation, the Turin doctors announced that the treatment would require at least three months.
The Sigma Olomouc ward is now awaiting rehabilitation and if everything goes according to plan, he could be available to coach Juric in early May.
But it is more likely that Zima will be fully available for the start of the summer training.
