A few days ago, the football world saw a lot of speculation. Kylian Mbappé should indeed be on his way to Real Madrid by now. But nothing is official. Moreover, according to some media, the tables are beginning to turn and it looks like the Frenchman will continue to stay at PSG.
Here we go again. Kylian Mbappé and his future or the transfer saga continues. In January, it was reported that the Frenchman himself had already decided to leave PSG and head to Real Madrid. Since then, however, many things have changed again.
Just a few days back, French and Italian media speculated that the Parisian big club had even scouted a replacement for their offensive ace. Rafael Leao, currently the star of AC Milan, is to be the replacement. Even the head of the Spanish league believed that the Frenchman would finally leave for Spain.
But now the situation is again very confused. There are several reasons, but the main one is money. Kylian Mbappé is demanding a contract that will guarantee him 50 million euros a year. In addition, he wants a signing bonus of 125 million euros. At least, that’s what the Football-España server claims.
The demands of the PSG jewel are unrealistic for Real Madrid. The Spanish giant demands that the player does not interfere in any way with the club’s wage structure. Should Los Blancos meet his demands, he would become the sovereign top earner at the Santiago Bernabeu.
However, that is not an option. According to foreign media, Florentino Pérez is willing to offer a maximum wage of €25 million. Bolder media estimates speak of €30 million, but not more.
Will Kylian Mbappé stay at PSG?
PSG are reportedly preparing an irresistible contract, according to AfterFoot RMC. If Kylian Mbappé signs it, he will earn 100 million euros a year in base salary alone (around CZK 2.5 billion). Furthermore, the Frenchman would receive bonuses and income from sponsors. He would probably become the highest earning sportsman in the world.
And while the Parisians consider how to keep their jewel, Real Madrid intends to save face. The 25-year-old world and European champion’s wages could be no more than the level of Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Jr, the club’s biggest stars.
According to Josep Pedrerola, Florentino Pérez wants Kylian Mbappé to really prove his intention to join Real Madrid. This is also why he is asking him to make the sacrifice of giving up big money. If that happens, the Los Blancos boss will be willing to overlook the way the player has treated the club in the past.
