Mario Götze is very likely to return to the Bundesliga. With Eintracht Frankfurt interested in his services, Götze would leave PSV Eindhoven after almost two years. For how long has he reportedly signed for the German team?
Based on information from Bulinews magazine or DailyMail, Götze is expected to move back to Germany, specifically Frankfurt.
The Bundesliga team and the German World Cup winner have reportedly already agreed on the terms of a contract that will see the 30-year-old offensive midfielder earn €4 million a year.
Frankfurt are ready to send a sum of four million euros to Eindhoven to activate his exit clause, which will allow him to leave PSV this summer.
Moreover, nothing should stand in the way of the transfer, so it is almost certain that we will see Götze again in the German top flight. After all, he has spent the vast majority of his career in the Bundesliga, having defended the colours of Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich.
230 starts, 57 goals and 61 assists – that’s his record in the Bundesliga.
He made 77 starts for the Dutch club across all competitions, scoring 18 goals and assisting 18 more. He is expected to stay at Frankfurt until 2024 or 2025.
This will grant Götze’s wish to play in the Champions League, which Frankfurt won with an amazing run in the Europa League, successively knocking out Betis, Barcelona, West Ham and finally beating Rangers. This is probably why he preferred Frankfurt to AS Roma and Benfica Lisbon.
