The Polish beauty is planning a comeback after two years! Who does the former UFC champion want to fight?
Polish fighter Joanna Jedrzejczyk has become a legend in the UFC. After winning the title, she managed to defend it six times. She failed in her seventh defense and hasn’t done well since. But she could be back in the cage soon.

If we were to list the best and most important pioneers of women’s MMA, it would be a sin to leave out the Polish fighter. She made sure that many people stopped looking down on the women’s scene with great and attractive fights.
Already her third fight in the UFC was a title fight, fully deserved. She held a 9-0 record going into it. Of course, she won the championship belt, and what’s more, she even defended it six times.
It wasn’t until her seventh defense that she was defeated by the current strawweight champion, Rose Namajunas. It was a hard blow for the Polish fighter, for the first time in her career she had to bite the feeling of defeat. After a short time, she got a rematch, but she failed in that too.
Since the rematch, she has played four matches, winning two and losing two. Two of them were title matches. But the last fight went down in history as one of the greatest women’s fights of all time. Jedrzejczyk put on an incredible war with Weili Zhang, losing on points.
What her face looked like after the fight is recorded in iconic photographs. The bout took place in March 2020, and the Pole hasn’t fought since. In the meantime, Zhang has already managed to lose her title, she didn’t even make it to the title rematch.
Namajunas can currently rest. There is virtually no one in her division who could be a real threat to her. Except Zhang. But she will have to wait for a third title fight and there is one very attractive option in play, which Jedrzejczyk is also leaning towards.
Although the Pole has recently been knocked out of the rankings, which will most likely make Namajunas face Carla Esparza soon, it could be interesting if the former champion decides to return to action.
A rematch with Zhang would reportedly make sense for her and whichever fighter wins, it’s certain that Namajunas would have a really quality opponent.
The question is what kind of shape Jedrzejczyk is in. After all, she hasn’t fought in a while. The fight could take place next spring. Anyway, age shouldn’t play a role in her performance. She’s only 34 years old and may have a few more years to go.
