The Detroit Pistons tied the infamous record with their 28th loss

This time Detroit, as the worst team in the league, played a game on the court of the league’s best team, the Boston Celtics. And quite surprisingly, they were reaching for an end to the infamous streak. In the game, the team from Detroit even developed a 21-point lead.

Nevertheless, the game went to overtime, where the Boston team confirmed its role as the favorite and defeated the Pistons 128:122. With another defeat, the Pistons improved their record of consecutive defeats to 28 games.

Moreover, he also equalled the absolute record of Philadelphia, which also lost in 28 consecutive games. The 76ers just split it between the 2014/15 and 2015/16 seasons.

Unfortunately for the team from Detroit, this time it was a pretty unlucky defeat. After more than two months, they at least took the game to overtime. However, the team ran out of steam in the set time and the duel was decided by the home team’s Kristaps Porzigins and Jason Tatum. On Detroit’s side, Cade Cunnigham traditionally did his best, but his 31 points and 10 rebounds came to nothing again.

In terms of American professional sports in general – Detroit is only one loss away from the absolute record set by the Chicago Cardinals in the NFL. Between 1942 and 1945, the Cardinals dropped 29 in a row.

Jokic again recorded a triple-double

In the Denver Nuggets game against the Memphis Grizzlies (142 to 105), especially with the absence of Ja Morant, it was a fairly clear-cut affair for the reigning champions from Denver. They were traditionally dragged down by Serbian pivot Nikola Jokic.

He actually had his standard performance of 26 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists in the game. With this feat, he notched his 116th career triple-double. And he is slowly but surely starting to catch up to Lakers legend Magic Johnson, who has 138.

Considering that Jokic is the only player in NBA history who has always recorded at least 10 triple-doubles in seven consecutive seasons, the feat of Oscar Robertson (181) or Russell Westbrook, who holds the record with 198 triple-doubles, is not unrealistic for him.
