The Czech national football team failed to win the third match of the Nations League’s supine phase, losing 0:2 to Portugal. The main reason for the failure was the dysfunctional left side, especially the left wing-back position, where the national team has been pushing the boot for a long time.

After Jankt was injured in the match against Spain, it was assumed that Jaroslav Šilhavý would nominate David Jurásek, who was announced as the discovery of the Fortuna Liga and a year later got from Prostějov through Mladá Boleslav to Slavia.

He didn’t lose his way in the red and white jersey, he made his debut against Slovácko and continued to play regularly on the left side of the defence, sometimes even on the wing. He is fast, has a pull on goal, an ideal choice for the wing-back position.

Although Jurásek will not be nominated before the last game in June, we need to think about finding a new choice. If the coaching staff wants to continue to prefer a 3-4-3 formation, they need to find someone like Vladimir Coufal on the left side. That is to say, tenacious, strong, fast and able to think offensively.
