The Premier League languishes in the most searched footballers stats
The Premier League is one of the best ever football leagues in the world in terms of marketing and the amount of fans around the world.
But a fascinating study has pointed out an interesting fact regarding the searches for the biggest football names on Google, still the most widely used internet search engine.
Footgoal has come up with an interesting survey. The latter has examined, using one of the best online tools for checking the volume of data within Google searches, just the most searched footballers in the world and found a remarkable statistic.
In fact, the Premier League doesn’t have a single representative in the top ten of that ranking. What’s more, the most searched man within England’s top competition is Manchester United’s defensive shield, Brazilian Casemiro, who is ranked 11th.
Cristiano Ronaldo has swapped places with Neymar and Messi at the top
The aforementioned site also came up with the information that the top three of the rankings have swapped positions in the last two years. While Brazilian Neymar was number one in 2021 and Lionel Messi a year later, both were leapfrogged by Cristiano Ronaldo in 2023, who went to Saudi Arabia to defend the colours of Al Nassr.
So let’s take a look at the top ten most wanted footballers in the world.
