The transfer window is in full swing, we’re not even halfway through yet, but there have already been several costly transfers. And there may be another huge one on the way.

5. Christoper Nkunku – Chelsea – 60 million euros

A transfer that was baked in the winter, but with an effective date of the summer. Chelsea have acquired French striker Christopher Nkunku from Leipzig for a fee of €60 million. The 25-year-old marksman only managed 25 games in the Bundesliga due to injury, but scored 16 goals. However, the season before last he dazzled with a record of 20+13.

4. Dominik Szoboszlai – Liverpool – €70 million

Also the second most expensive transfer of this summer is from Leipzig to the Premier League. Liverpool have claimed Dominik Szoboszlai in the squad of the third team of the Bundesliga. They will pay 70 million euros for the still only 22-year-old offensive midfielder.

3. Kai Havertz – Arsenal – €70 million

We return to London, where this time Arsenal spent big money on a new signing. The Gunners have picked up Kai Havertz from Chelsea and paid 70 million euros for him. The German offensive all-rounder hinted at a lot of potential in the Premier League, but couldn’t quite sell it. That task is now in the hands of Mikel Arteta.

2. Declan Rice – Arsenal – €100 million

Arsenal are also responsible for the second most expensive transfer of the summer. The transfer of Declan Rice may not be official yet, but at the time of writing, he has passed his medical and only official confirmation remains. The West Ham captain will become the most expensive Englishman in history and should surpass Jack Grealish.

1. Jude Bellingham – Real Madrid – €103 million

We can also find an English midfielder at the top spot, but Jude Bellingham did not choose the Premier League, but Real Madrid. Los Blancos paid Dortmund 103 million euros, making Bellingham the thirteenth most expensive player in history.

Bellingham is set to be the future of Real Madrid and the leader of the midfield for many years to come. Bonuses are still part of the transfer, which can reach up to 20 million euros.

Another transfer on the horizon?

Except that this ranking may be null and void at the end of August. And Real Madrid would take care of it again. For Kylian Mbappé’s future at PSG hangs in the balance and if he were to leave, it would be for a record sum to the Spanish capital.

If the Parisian big club would like to sell Mbappé, there is talk of a sum of 200-250 million euros. At the upper limit, the transfer record would fall not only this summer, but the entire football history. PSG is responsible for the most expensive transfer to date, having bought Neymar from Barcelona for 222 million euros.
