Tomáš Vaclík is the clear leader in goal. Jiří Pavlenka and Jindřich Staněk are strong competitors, but Jaroslav Šilhavý trusts the goalkeeper from Huddersfield and nothing will change that.
It’s a bit of a question mark as to what formation the Czechs will use. Against stronger opponents, Šilhavý has resorted to three stoppers, but in recent games he has reverted to a four-goal system. And given the shortage of stoppers, you can expect him to bet on it again.
Vladimír Coufal would traditionally start on the right edge of the defence, while Jakub Brabec and Tomas Holeš would probably play at stopper. Although we would probably all like to see newcomer David Jurásek at left back, Šilhavý will probably bet on experience and prefer Jaroslav Zelený.
The center pairing should be clear. Next to captain Tomáš Souček, Alex Král, who is getting back into good form at Schalke, will probably start.
The offensive trio is also quite clear. The right wing should belong to Vaclav Cerny, who is in great form at Twente and has accumulated a 3+3 record in the last 6 games.
Antonín Barák from Fiorentina is expected to play on the wing and Adam Hložek from Leverkusen on the left wing.
Jan Kuchta is the top striker with Patrik Schick injured. Although it was offered to bet on cooperation with Čvančara, at the moment there is no way to get the 22-year-old into the line-up.
Probable line-up of the Czech Republic::
Vaclik
Coufal – Brabec – Holeš – Zelený
Souček – Král
Černý – Barák – Hložek
Kuchta
Čvančara, Lingr, Ševčík or Chytil will be ready as jokers. Newcomers M. Jurásek and L. Sadílek will also wait for their chance.
